Understanding the California Solar Mandate
Our team can help you navigate the California solar mandate for new construction. We’ll ensure your work is in line with the construction code that requires new homes to have solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as sources of electricity.
What is the California Solar Mandate for New Construction?
The California Energy Commission (CEC) created a mandate in 2018 that all new single-family homes and multi-family dwellings up to three stories be equipped with solar panels. This requirement became effective on January 1, 2020. It was the first of its kind in the United States and approved unanimously by the CEC.

The winery is part of the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance and has created a certification program for its growers.
